The Malta Whisky Club is a joint initiative between The Chophouse Restaurant and The Wine Boutique – Franks, purveyors of fine wines and spirits. The Club will meet on a monthly basis on the last Thursday of each month at 8.00pm. Nine sessions will be held in all between October 2014 and June 2015.
Andrew will speak about the whiskies using visual aids and conduct a tasting and comparing session. There after Club members may continue to enjoy the whiskies at liberty discussing their preferences and sharing other whisky experiences. These sessions will be held in the pleasant and comfortable Cave section of The Chophouse restaurant.
Andrew Abela will introduce members to an average of five different whiskies each session. Blended whiskies, single malts, different vintages, whiskies of many origins will all be tasted and spoken about at The Malta Whisky Club. Appropriate finger food will also be served.
Each session is tailor made to give you a taste of Scotland’s various Whisky regions, starting from the Lowlands, climbing through the Highlands and ending on the Islands. Durning the second year, Club business will focus on international whiskies including Irish, Japanese, German , Indian and many more.
From time to time the Malta Whisky Club will be hosting representatives from various distilleries for which all enrolled members will be invited to attend without payment. Also local whisky importers will host occasional events at The Chophouse for which members will also be invited to attend.
Towards the end of January “Burns Night” will be celebrated with a special dinner menu were our chef will be matching dishes with some of the more favourite blends and single malts.
We have capped the maximum attendance number per session to 25 persons. A subscription charge of €320 per person for one whisky year will be charged.
